The Recalled Series reflects on the passage of time and memory, starting with 100+-year-old portraits that are fragmented and fractured through a simple, yet unique experimental photographic process.
The resulting abstract and painterly representations resurrect the past and explore our own ephemeral experiences that shape who we are and how we want to be remembered.
By abstracting anonymous individuals, the viewer creates personal connotations of the artist’s intent and contemplates how their individual narratives are constantly being constructed.
