This is Our Truth
The gold metallic thread erases as it enshrines, veiling a body poised in  defiance — legs parted and arms raised, muscles powerfully flex. This covering echoes the invisibility forced on queer lives, yet it is also chosen: a shimmer of self-preservation amid fear and shadowed self-doubt. Beneath the surface, virility endures, resilient and insistent. In the landscape's isolation, he stands unbroken — covered yet unyielding, this is our truth.
The model is Bill Melby, photographed by the Western Photography Group in the 1950s.
